"Fingerprints" is a studio album by British-American musician, singer, and songwriter Peter Frampton. Released on 12th September 2006, the album is a significant departure from Frampton's previous works, focusing primarily on instrumental tracks. Notably, "Fingerprints" won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Album in 2007, making it Frampton’s first and only Grammy award to date.
For the creation of this album, Peter Frampton teamed up with several notable musicians including members of Pearl Jam and Rolling Stones. The album pays homage to Frampton's influences as well as showcases his signature guitar playing, with genres ranging from rock and jazz to blues. Interestingly, the album's title, "Fingerprints," refers to Frampton's desire to make a record that was identifiably his, something that carried his unique "fingerprints."
"Fingerprints" comprises a total of 14 tracks, starting with "Boot It Up" and ending with "Blowin' Smoke". Among these tracks, "Black Hole Sun" and "Float" are two standout pieces that especially received substantial recognition.
