Frampton Comes Alive! is a live album by English rock musician Peter Frampton, released in 1976. This double album, most notably features the hits "Show Me the Way", "Baby, I Love Your Way", and "Do You Feel Like We Do", all of which achieved significant radio airplay and helped Frampton to gain visibility in the United States.
The album was recorded primarily at Marin County's Winterland Ballroom, The Long Island Arena, and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh's Memorial Hall. It is one of the best-selling live albums in the United States where it is reported to have sold eleven million copies. Interestingly, Frampton Comes Alive! was originally intended to be a way to fulfil a contract obligation, however, following its release, the album soared in popularity, reaching number one on the Billboard 200 the week of April 10, 1976, and ultimately spending a total of 10 weeks at the summit of the chart.
The immediate success of Frampton Comes Alive! transformed Frampton's status from a relatively unknown artist to an international celebrity. By showcasing Frampton's sound and live show capabilities, the album disclosed his unique style and talent, eventually securing his position as one of the premier artists of the time. It also received numerous recognitions – in 1976, it won the Juno Award for International Album of the Year, and in 2003, it was ranked number 42 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time.
