The Residents

"Duck Stab!/Buster & Glen", later renamed Duck Stab, is the fifth studio album by the American art rock group The Residents, released in November 1978. The album is split into two parts: the first side, Duck Stab!, consists of a seven-song EP originally released earlier in 1978, while the second side, Buster & Glen, features previously unreleased tracks. The decision to re-release Duck Stab! as part of a full album was prompted by the EP's quick sell-out and its poor audio quality. The album's shorter song lengths made it more accessible compared to previous releases, and tracks like "Constantinople" and "Hello Skinny" became fan favorites, further solidifying the band's cult status. Some observers noted that while the band was incorporating more commercial elements, they were still deliberately avoiding conventional structures, such as traditional verse-chorus formats. The album also features guitar work by Philip "Snakefinger" Lithman, contributing to its distinctive sound.
