"B, S & T; 4" alternatively expanded as "Blood, Sweat & Tears; 4," arrived in June 1971 as the fourth studio album by the iconic band Blood, Sweat & Tears. The album soared to the number 10 spot on the Billboard Pop albums chart, solidifying the band's position in the music industry.
This album witnessed significant changes within the band's lineup. Former member Al Kooper was invited to contribute to the album, offering the song "John the Baptist (Holy John)." Additionally, trombonist Dave Bargeron joined the group, replacing Jerry Hyman.
Notably, "B, S & T; 4" marked the departure of lead vocalist David Clayton-Thomas, who pursued a solo career after its release. Founding members Dick Halligan and Fred Lipsius also left the band around this time. Despite these changes, Clayton-Thomas would eventually return to the lineup for the band's 1975 release, "New City."
