Sia

"1000 Forms of Fear" is the sixth studio album by Australian singer-songwriter, Sia. Released through RCA Records on 4 July 2014, the album marks her departure from indie to mainstream pop and was produced by Greg Kurstin. The development of the album came after Sia’s period of commercial and critical struggles as she sought to reestablish her music career by moving into writing songs. After her previous album, "We Are Born" in 2010, she became uncomfortable with her growing fame and adopted a low-visibility approach to her career. The album comprises 12 tracks and spawned three singles. The lead single, "Chandelier", received critical acclaim and reached the top 5 in many international charts. Other singles include "Big Girls Cry" and "Elastic Heart". Lyrically, 1000 Forms of Fear is primarily based on Sia's personal experiences with drug addiction, alcoholism, and bipolar disorder. The album received generally positive reviews from music critics, who praised Sia's vocals as well as the album's lyrical content. The album debuted at number one in the US Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 52,000 copies. It was also successful globally, reaching top 10 positions in numerous countries worldwide.
