"Greatest Hits" (also titled Greatest Hits 87–92 and later re-titled Vintage Kylie: The Hits 88–92) is a compilation album by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, released on November 18, 2002, by PWL. The album features tracks from Minogue's PWL era, including hits from her albums Kylie (1988), Enjoy Yourself (1989), Rhythm of Love (1990), Let's Get to It (1991), and Greatest Hits (1992).
An updated version, Greatest Hits 87–97, was released on November 24, 2003, by BMG and PWL, in response to her upcoming album Body Language in early 2004. The cover for this edition, photographed by Simon Fowler in 1990, includes additional songs and remixes from Kylie Minogue (1994) and Impossible Princess (1997). This version also received positive reviews from music critics.
Following the success of Kylie Minogue's eighth studio album, Fever, BMG decided to release a greatest hits album. The 2002 compilation featured a cover using a stock photo by Jasper James, depicting a look-alike in underwear, which received criticism from AllMusic's Johnny Loftus as "shoddy."
The release sparked some controversy within Minogue's camp, particularly regarding the cover art. An official cover, designed by Kylie and her team, was made available for download on her website and included free with copies of Heat magazine. This version, titled Vintage Kylie, humorously stated, "Like Kylie? Why not have the real thing!" Additionally, a version titled Best of was released in France but was withdrawn on the day of its release.
Due to the upcoming release of her new album, Body Language, in February 2004, BMG later reissued the compilation.
