"Rhythm of Love" is the third studio album by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, released in the UK on November 12, 1990, and in Australia on December 3, 1990. The album marked a significant shift in Minogue's career, showcasing her growing involvement in songwriting and production; it was her first project where she received co-writing credits. Produced primarily by Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW), along with new collaborators like Keith Cohen and Stephen Bray, the album features a more dance-influenced sound and a sexually liberated image compared to her earlier bubblegum pop records.
Despite receiving generally positive reviews and being praised as her best work with SAW, Rhythm of Love did not achieve the same commercial success as her previous albums. It became her first studio album not to reach number one in the UK, peaking at number nine, and also reached number ten in Australia, along with top 20 positions in Ireland, France, and Spain.
The album spawned four singles: "Better the Devil You Know," "Step Back in Time," "What Do I Have to Do," and "Shocked," all of which entered the top 10 in the UK and Ireland, making Minogue the first artist to have her first 13 releases reach the top 10 in the UK. Promotion included provocative music videos and her Rhythm of Love Tour, which expanded to Australia and Asia. The album was re-issued in the UK in 2015, returning to the UK Albums Chart.
