"Voice of the Heart" is the eleventh studio album by the American music duo Carpenters, released in 1983 following Karen Carpenter's death earlier that year. The album features two songs from Karen's final recording sessions, "Now" and "You're Enough," which were recorded in April 1982 while she was on a break from medical treatment.
In addition to these tracks, the album includes previously unreleased songs from earlier sessions for the Carpenters' previous albums, such as A Kind of Hush, Passage, and Made in America. "Ordinary Fool" was originally recorded during the sessions for A Kind of Hush. Songs like "Make Believe It's Your First Time" and "Your Baby Doesn't Love You Anymore" were also part of the Made in America sessions, with the former serving as a lead single for Voice of the Heart.
One track, "In Love Alone," was intended for this album but was never recorded by Karen before her death. It was later released in 1987 on Richard Carpenter's solo album, featuring Dionne Warwick on lead vocals.
