"A Song for You" serves as the fourth studio album by the American music duo The Carpenters, hitting the airwaves on June 13, 1972. According to Richard Carpenter, the album was conceived as a concept album, with the title track opening and closing the set, and the songs in between forming the 'song'. The titular "A Song for You" was penned by songwriter Leon Russell.
