"Nukleopatra" is an album by the British synthpop band Dead Or Alive. It was first released in Japan in 1995 and then in several other countries in 1996 and 1997, but was not released in their home country until 1999. The album marked the band's transition to a more technopop and electronic style, compared to their traditional Hi-NRG sound and pop-dance hits.
The album includes several cover songs, such as "Unhappy Birthday" by The Smiths, "Picture This" by Blondie, and "Rebel Rebel" by David Bowie. It also features the hit single, "Sex Drive", which reached the top of the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart.
The album was a commercial success in Japan where it quickly reached the top of the charts. Fun fact, it was named after NUKLEOPATRA, a famous drag queen from Florida who sadly passed in 1996. The album can represent a homage to her and even features her voice in one of its tracks.
