Interpol

"The Black EP" is a unique audio tapestry by the American rock band, Interpol. Produced after their prominent debut album "Turn on the Bright Lights," the EP was released in 2003. The collection provides a rich taste of the band's characteristic dark, post-punk revival style. The EP includes three songs: a remix of "Obstacle 1," a radio edit of "Obstacle 1", and "Specialist." The remix of "Obstacle 1" introduces new layers to the band's sound, highlighting their ability to innovate and reinterpret their work. On the other hand, the radio edit gives a more succinct and radio-friendly version of the song. Lastly, "Specialist," an inherent fan favorite, hints at the band's stylistic evolution, serving as a bridge to their later work. Interpol, which formed in 1997, comprises Paul Banks, Daniel Kessler, Carlos Dengler, and Sam Fogarino. They are known for their intricate guitar work, dense soundscapes, and enigmatic lyrics - all of which are captured in "The Black EP."
