"Ignite the Seven Cannons" is the fourth studio album by the English alternative rock band Felt, released in 1985. Sometimes referred to as "Ignite the Seven Cannons and Set Sail for the Sun," this album features the debut of keyboardist Martin Duffy and marks the last appearance of founding guitarist Maurice Deebank, making it a unique entry in their discography.
Produced by Robin Guthrie of Cocteau Twins, the album includes the standout track "Primitive Painters," which became Felt's most successful single, topping the UK independent singles chart. The album features several instrumental tracks, showcasing the band's atmospheric sound.
The 2018 remastered edition includes six remixed songs, with notable changes made to the original vinyl's Side Two. Frontman Lawrence expressed dissatisfaction with Guthrie's original mix, stating that it overshadowed some of his best work, which led to the decision to revisit and remix the album.
