Paul McCartney

"Chaos and Creation in the Backyard" is the thirteenth solo studio album by Paul McCartney, released on September 12, 2005, in the UK and September 13 in the US. The album, which took about 18 months to complete, was produced by Nigel Godrich, known for his work with Radiohead and Beck, at the suggestion of George Martin. This marked a departure from McCartney's usual role as producer, a position he had held for many of his previous albums, including McCartney (1970), McCartney II (1980), and McCartney III (2020). McCartney played almost all of the instruments on Chaos and Creation in the Backyard, continuing a trend seen in his earlier self-produced works. This album was also significant as it was McCartney's final release for EMI, his longtime label. In 2007, he signed with Hear Music, a label owned by Starbucks, before eventually returning to Capitol Records in 2016. The album was well-received by critics and fans alike, with praise for its introspective lyrics and sophisticated arrangements. It showcases McCartney's versatility and depth as a musician, featuring a mix of rock, pop, and orchestral elements.
