"Voyage" is the ninth and final studio album by Swedish pop group ABBA, released on November 5, 2021. This album marks the group's first collection of new material in forty years, following The Visitors (1981). Composed of ten tracks written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, Voyage was supported by the dual single release of "I Still Have Faith in You" and "Don't Shut Me Down," announced on September 2, 2021. Additional singles included "Just a Notion" and "Little Things." The album debuted at number one in several countries, including Australia, Germany, and the UK, and reached number two in the US and Canada, making it ABBA's highest-charting studio album in North America. It has sold over 2.5 million copies globally and earned multiple Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. ABBA's informal split in 1983 was followed by renewed interest in their music through ABBA Gold and the Mamma Mia! musical and films. Despite declining various offers to reunite over the years, the band members came together informally in 2016, leading to the recording of new songs. Initially, these tracks were meant for a TV special but eventually contributed to the full album. One track, "Just a Notion," had previously appeared as a demo in a medley from the Thank You for the Music box set. This album is notable for being produced solely by Andersson, with no contributions from Ulvaeus on instrumentation, although he is credited as a backing vocalist and associate producer. The album's promotional campaign included a dedicated website and social media presence, culminating in a live stream announcement of the album and its singles. The ABBA Voyage concert residency, featuring "ABBAtars"—digital avatars of the band—opened in London on May 27, 2022, utilizing motion-capture technology for a unique live experience. In May 2022, Andersson confirmed that this project would be the final collaboration for the group, solidifying Voyage as a significant conclusion to ABBA's storied career.
