Kim Wilde

"Now & Forever" is the ninth studio album by Kim Wilde, released in autumn 1995 through MCA Records. Marking a shift from her earlier pop sound, Wilde embraced a soul/R&B style with the help of producer Ricky Wilde and collaborations with CJ Mackintosh and the Serious Rope team. The album opens with the dance track "Breakin' Away" and includes R&B songs like "C'mon Love Me" and "You're All I Wanna Do." However, this new direction did not resonate with her fans, leading to the album's failure to chart in the UK and limited airplay for its singles. Lyrically, the songs range from uplifting tracks like "Sweet Inspiration" to more somber themes in "Now & Forever." Only two singles were released in the UK: "Breakin' Away" and "This I Swear," with the latter underperforming at No. 46. Now & Forever was Wilde's final album before her transition to the musical Tommy, during which she released a remix of "Shame," a track recorded during the album sessions but not included on the album.
