Laurie Anderson

"Homeland" is the seventh studio album by Laurie Anderson, released in 2010. It marks Anderson's return to releasing new material, following her 2001 album "Life on a String". Produced by Anderson herself, along with Lou Reed and Roma Baran, the album explores themes related to life in the United States, presented through Anderson's distinctive musical and narrative style. The album's release was delayed multiple times due to ongoing changes and developments in the project's concept and form. Ultimately, "Homeland" was issued as a two-disc set, featuring a CD of music and a DVD component. The lead single, "Only an Expert", was released on 12" vinyl in May 2010, with "Pictures and Things" as its B-side. One of the album's tracks, "Flow", received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 2011. Throughout "Homeland", Anderson weaves together her characteristic storytelling with eclectic musical arrangements, continuing her exploration of contemporary American life through a lens uniquely her own.
