The Bangles

"Everything" is the third studio album by the Bangles, released on October 18, 1988, through Columbia Records. The album continued the band's success from their previous work, yielding hits like "In Your Room," which reached the US Top 5, and "Eternal Flame," a global chart-topper. The singles included "Eternal Flame," which was particularly successful, reaching number one in multiple countries, while "In Your Room" also achieved a Top 5 position. The 2008 reissue added a 12" remix of "In Your Room" as a bonus track. Two notable songs recorded for the album but ultimately left off were "What I Meant to Say," a B-side to "Eternal Flame," and "Everything I Wanted," which appeared on the band's 1990 Greatest Hits compilation. Despite the chart success of its singles, Everything did not meet sales expectations, leading to the band's hiatus from 1989 until 1998. The album is often remembered for its catchy melodies and the blend of pop rock with the Bangles' signature harmonies, marking a notable point in their career before their break.
