"Content" is the seventh studio album by English post-punk band Gang of Four. The album was released on January 24, 2011, nearly 16 years after their previous album, Shrinkwrapped. Content marked the band's return to original label, Yep Roc Records.
The album was funded through a PledgeMusic campaign, where audiences could purchase the album in various formats, from digital downloads to signed CDs and vinyl. In more inventive options, fans could receive a signed original artwork or a 'Gang of Four songwriting experience'.
Content features the founding members Jon King and Andy Gill working alongside new members Mark Heaney and Thomas McNeice. It was well-received, earning a place in the UK top 40 Independent Albums, and a positive critical reception with many praising its political messaging. The album saw the band returning to their roots, featuring the concise post-punk guitar work and political lyrics that initially made them famous in the late 70s and early 80s.
