Fontaines D.C.

"Skinty Fia" is the third studio album by Irish rock band Fontaines D.C., released on April 22, 2022, via Partisan Records. Produced by Dan Carey, known for his work with the band's previous albums, "Dogrel" and "A Hero's Death," the album's title refers to an old Irish saying meaning "the damnation of the deer." The phrase "Skinty Fia" reflects drummer Tom Coll's great-aunt's expression. The album's title and cover art allude to the extinct Irish elk, also known as the "giant deer." "Skinty Fia" marked Fontaines D.C.'s first number-one album in both Ireland and the UK. It also achieved success internationally, reaching number two in the Netherlands and placing in the top 10 in Belgium, France, Germany, and Switzerland. At the 2023 Brit Awards, the album earned the band a win for the Brit Award for International Group. Additionally, it received a nomination for Album of the Year at the Choice Music Prize for the year 2022.
