"And I Feel Fine... The Best of the I.R.S. Years 1982–1987" is a compilation album by the American band R.E.M., released on September 12, 2006. This collection features remastered tracks from the band's time at I.R.S. Records, spanning from their 1982 "Chronic Town" EP to the 1987 album "Document."
The compilation is available in three versions: the standard edition, which is a single-disc with 21 popular tracks, including every I.R.S. single except "Wendell Gee" and "Superman"; the deluxe edition, which is a two-disc set with the same tracks as the standard version plus a bonus disc of rarities, including the single "Superman," unreleased songs, and alternate mixes; and the deluxe edition with DVD, which includes the two-disc set along with the companion DVD, "When the Light Is Mine."
The album features outtake versions of "Bad Day" and "All the Right Friends," which later appeared in their final forms on the 2003 Warner Bros. compilation "In Time: The Best of R.E.M. 1988–2003." Additionally, "Theme from Two Steps Onward" and "Mystery to Me" are unreleased tracks from the "Lifes Rich Pageant" sessions, intended for the "Eponymous" compilation but lost at the time.
"And I Feel Fine" reached #70 on the UK Albums Chart, with the two-disc version achieving a higher peak in the U.S. compared to the single-disc version.
