Apoptygma Berzerk

"7" is the second studio album by Norwegian futurepop group Apoptygma Berzerk, released in 1996. The album followed frontman Stephan Groth's involvement in various side projects and showcases the band's exploration of the futurepop genre. Remastered and re-released in 2003, 2008, and 2014, "7" includes bonus songs in each edition. The album incorporates diverse elements, featuring tracks like "Love Never Dies – Part 1" with a notable sample of Carl Orff's "O Fortuna." However, due to copyright issues on original pressings, subsequent releases replaced the Orff sample with a choir keyboard patch playing a different melody. "7" achieved recognition, reaching #18 on the CMJ RPM Charts in the U.S. The remastered editions have kept the album's legacy alive, allowing listeners to appreciate Apoptygma Berzerk's contribution to the futurepop and electronic music landscape.
