"Room Service" is the tenth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Bryan Adams, released by Polydor Records on September 10, 2004. It marked Adams' return with new material since the soundtrack album Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron in 2002 and his first studio album in six years following On a Day Like Today. Adams produced the album himself and collaborated with various co-writers. The themes explored in the album include street life, touring, truth, love, and relationships.
The album achieved significant success, entering the charts in more than 15 countries, reaching number one in Germany and Switzerland, and landing in the top ten in seven other territories. However, it did not perform as well in the United States due to a lack of record company support and publicity.
Five songs were released from the album in different formats and at different times: "Open Road," "Flying," "Room Service," "This Side of Paradise," and "Why Do You Have to Be So Hard to Love?" The first three were released as physical singles internationally, while the last two were promoted as radio singles. The single "Open Road" charted within the top twenty on the Canadian Singles Chart, "Flying" reached the top forties in Canada and the top hundred in Europe, and "Room Service" had more modest commercial success. The album received two Juno Award nominations, for "CD/DVD Artwork Design of the Year" and "Artist of the Year."
