"Criminal Tango" emerges as the twelfth studio album by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, featuring Chris Thompson, released in 1986. Notably, founding guitarist/vocalist Mick Rogers returned for this album, solidifying his role as an active member. However, the addition of new bassist Steve Kinch occurred during the album's recording process, resulting in a collaborative effort with bassists Durban Betancourt-Laverde and John Giblin.
This album marks a significant transition for the band, as it is their first release under the Virgin Records label after an eleven-year tenure with Bronze Records.
