"Chance" is the tenth studio album by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, released in 1980. The album cover features an adaptation of Danish artist Ole Kortzau's poster "Strandstole" (deck chairs).
This album marked the temporary return of founding guitarist Mick Rogers to the band. John Lingwood replaced drummer Geoff Britton, who left due to illness. Chance also represents the last album featuring bassist Pat King.
Although Chris Thompson had officially left the band after Angel Station, he returned as a guest vocalist for this album and participated in the subsequent tour, adding a familiar voice to the live performances.
The album reflects the band's blend of rock and progressive elements, continuing their exploration of themes and sounds that had characterized their previous works.
