The Doobie Brothers

"Livin' on the Fault Line" is the seventh studio album by the American rock band the Doobie Brothers, released on August 19, 1977, by Warner Bros. Records. Unlike many of their other 1970s releases, this album did not produce any Top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, though "You Belong to Me," a song co-written by the band, became a hit for Carly Simon. Despite this, the album received modest critical acclaim. During the recording of this album, guitarist and vocalist Tom Johnston left the band early in the sessions. Although he is listed as a member of the band and appears in the inside group photo, Johnston contributed little to the final album. He wrote and recorded five songs for the album, but they were ultimately not included in the release. One notable track on the album is "Little Darling (I Need You)," a remake of Marvin Gaye's 1966 hit.
