Rod Stewart

"Atlantic Crossing" is the sixth solo album by Rod Stewart, released on August 15, 1975. Recorded between April and June 1975 across five American studios, including Muscle Shoals, Alabama, the album was produced by Tom Dowd. It marked a significant period of transition for Stewart, as he moved to Los Angeles, switched record labels to Warner Brothers, and ended his collaboration with musicians Ronnie Wood and Ian McLagan. The album features a distinct structure, divided into a fast side and a slow side, a format suggested by Stewart's then-girlfriend, Swedish actress Britt Ekland. This split was later replicated in his subsequent albums. Atlantic Crossing includes some of Stewart's most popular tracks, such as Sailing and I Don't Want to Talk About It, along with classic rock favorites like Three Time Loser and Stone Cold Sober. The album was well-received, reaching number one in the UK and number nine on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart, solidifying Stewart's status in the rock genre.
