The Mission

"Aura" is popularly known as The Mission's eighth official studio album. Recorded in 2001, this album marked the band's return after an initial break-up in 1996. Some notable line-up changes occurred in this album with Craig Adams being the only original member alongside frontman Wayne Hussey. "Aura" embraces a sort of gothic rock sound that reflects the band's earlier works, standing in contrast to their more experimental approach in the late 90s. The album spotlights a mix of new material alongside older tracks that have been redone. Notable tracks in the album include "Evangeline," "Slave to Lust," and "In Denial" which was considered as a standout, demonstrating the band's darker, heavier side. Overall, "Aura" was appreciated for its consistent, high-quality gothic-rock undertones and became a strong comeback for the band.
