Prince

"4Ever", also known as Prince 4Ever, is a greatest hits album by American recording artist Prince, released on November 22, 2016, by NPG Records and Warner Bros. Records. This compilation marks the first Prince release following his death on April 21, 2016. The two-disc set features 40 songs from Prince's extensive catalog during his tenure with Warner Bros. Records. It includes recordings from all his albums between his debut For You (1978) and The Hits/The B-Sides (1993). Notably, 4Ever is the first collection to include Prince's number-one hit single "Batdance," which was part of the soundtrack for the 1989 film Batman. A key highlight of the album is the first official release of the song "Moonbeam Levels." This track had previously circulated among bootleggers in a low-quality form, but it was officially released for the first time on this compilation. "Moonbeam Levels" was originally recorded in 1982 during the sessions for 1999, and it was considered for the unreleased 1988–89 album Rave unto the Joy Fantastic. The compilation serves as a celebration of Prince’s musical legacy, offering a comprehensive overview of his work with Warner Bros. while introducing previously unheard material to his fans.
