The Lemonheads

"The Lemonheads" is the eighth studio album by the Lemonheads, marking their first release after a nine-year hiatus. The album showcases the band's signature sound and reflects their return to music after a significant break. On April 26, 2006, it was announced that the Lemonheads had signed with Vagrant Records, introducing a new lineup that included original member Evan Dando, along with Karl Alvarez from Descendents/All on bass and Bill Stevenson on drums. They began working on an album set for release later that year. The self-titled album features contributions from Josh Lattanzi on bass, Garth Hudson on keyboards, and J Mascis from Dinosaur Jr. on lead guitar. Additionally, the track "Steve's Boy" is dedicated to Bill Stevenson's father, William A. Stevenson. On July 6, 2006, it was announced that the Lemonheads' self-titled album was set for release, and the track listing was revealed. Later that month, the band performed several shows in the UK. On August 22, 2006, the track "No Backbone" was posted online, and the album became available for streaming on September 25, with its official release the following day. The Lemonheads toured the U.S. in November and December 2006, returning for another U.S. tour in January and February 2007, followed by tours in New Zealand and Australia in March and April. In July 2007, they toured the U.S. East Coast with support from the Icarus Line. In 2008, a limited-edition yellow vinyl version of the album was released, with signed copies available on the Lemonheads' website.
