"Seeds" is the fifth studio album by American art rock band TV on the Radio, released on November 18, 2014, through Harvest Records. It marks the band's first album following the 2011 death of bassist Gerard Smith. The album's lead single, "Happy Idiot," was released on September 2, 2014.
Recorded in Los Angeles at guitarist Dave Sitek's Federal Prism home studio, Seeds was produced by Sitek. The band took a more relaxed approach to recording, with lead singer Tunde Adebimpe noting that the absence of a strict time pressure allowed for a more creative, free-flowing process.
The album was announced in July 2014, and Adebimpe reflected on the band's challenges over the previous years, expressing pride in the album's creation. He described Seeds as the band's best work, emphasizing the deep connection among the members despite the hardships they had faced.
