No Doubt

The debut studio album by American rock band No Doubt, simply titled "No Doubt," marked the band's introduction to the music scene when it was released on March 17, 1992, by Interscope Records. Originally recorded independently, the album was later re-recorded after the band signed with Interscope. Produced by Dito Godwin and recorded in Los Angeles, the album's sound stood apart from the prevailing grunge music of the time, offering an upbeat and commercial style. Despite the band's energetic live performances, album sales fell short of expectations, with approximately 30,000 copies sold, and critical reception was mixed. Interscope's reluctance to finance a single from the album led No Doubt to independently release "Trapped in a Box" as a single. Following their independent release of the second album, "The Beacon Street Collection," which achieved better commercial success with 100,000 copies sold, Interscope provided support for their third album, "Tragic Kingdom" (1995), which ultimately propelled No Doubt to mainstream fame.
