"Madrugada" is an album by the namesake Norwegian rock band Madrugada. Released in January 2008, it marks their sixth and final studio album. The album was produced after the sudden death of their guitarist, Robert Burås, in 2007. Despite his loss, the band decided to continue the making of the album, which was already halfway finished at the time of his passing. The remainder was completed using Burås's guitar tracks that had been recorded prior to his death.
The album, bearing the band's name, was well-received and ended up getting to number one on the Norwegian Albums Chart, a testament to their frontier-treading style and tackling of profound existential themes. Generally, it carries an elegiac tone and is full of introspective songs with melancholic undertone, representing the pained and cathartic journey the band went through in their attempt to cope with their bandmate's sudden demise. Some of the noteworthy songs from the album include "Whatever Happened to You," "Look Away Lucifer," and "The Hour of the Wolf."
After the release of this album, Madrugada embarked on a tour but later announced that they would not continue as a band, making this album the conclusive ending to their musical journey.
