"Audience With the Mind" is an album by the House of Love, recorded after the departure of their third lead guitarist in as many years, Simon Mawby. As a result, the band's leader, Guy Chadwick, handled most of the guitar work for the album, with additional contributions from Sean O'Hagan of The High Llamas on acoustic and slide guitars. Former band member Andrea Heukamp also provided backing vocals, as she had on the band's previous album, "Babe Rainbow." The album produced one single, "Hollow."
Just before the album's release in 1993, drummer Pete Evans left the band, leaving Chadwick to promote the album alone. Without the support of live performances, the album did not achieve commercial success. Following this period, the House of Love disbanded and did not reunite until 2005.
The album's title suggests an introspective journey or engagement with inner thoughts, which may be reflected in its lyrical themes and musical direction.
