Incubus

"Monuments and Melodies" is the first greatest hits compilation album by the American rock band Incubus, released on June 16, 2009, under Epic Records. The album is structured as a double-disc set, with the first disc featuring 13 previously released singles spanning their albums "Make Yourself," "Morning View," "A Crow Left of the Murder...," and "Light Grenades." Additionally, two new tracks produced by Brendan O'Brien were included: "Black Heart Inertia" and "Midnight Swim." The second disc of "Monuments and Melodies" is a collection of rarities, encompassing B-sides, soundtrack contributions, alternate versions of songs, three previously unreleased tracks, and a cover of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy." The album derives its title from a song originally released as a B-side to "Megalomaniac" and included as a bonus track on international editions of "A Crow Left of the Murder..." This song is also featured on Disc 2 of the compilation. "Monuments and Melodies" serves as a comprehensive overview of Incubus' musical journey up to that point, offering fans a mix of their well-known hits alongside lesser-known gems and unreleased material. It remains a significant release in the band's discography, appealing both to longtime listeners and newcomers looking to explore their diverse catalog.
