"8" is the eighth studio album by the American rock band Incubus. It was released on April 21, 2017, through Island Records. The album takes its name from being the band’s eighth LP. The tracks of "8" were co-produced by Dave Sardy (who had worked with Incubus in producing their 2004 album "A Crow Left Of The Murder...") and Sonny Moore, better known as Skrillex.
The album was announced on February 16, 2017, with the debut of the single "Nimble Bastard". The band said of the album's direction, “As a band, we’re collectively interested in challenging ourselves and hopefully finding new, innovative ways of writing music. That ethos has kept things interesting for us."
No stranger to the charts, the band's "8" album reached number 4 on the US Billboard 200. Despite some mixed reviews, there was positive recognition for the maturing sound that the band has developed over years of experience in their music.
Interestingly, after the album's track-listing was finished, Skrillex, was brought in to help streamline and polish it, but ended up co-producing and mixing all the material.
