The Cramps

"Look Mom No Head!" is the fifth studio album by the American rock band the Cramps, and their 10th overall release. It was originally released in November 1991 by Restless/Enigma in the United States, and licensed to Ace Records under Big Beat in the UK. The album was recorded and mixed by Steve McMillan at Ocean Way Studios in Hollywood over a period from June 21 to July 14, 1991. It was self-produced by Poison Ivy, the guitarist of the Cramps. One notable guest on the album is Iggy Pop, who appeared on the track "Miniskirt Blues". This song was originally recorded by the Flower Children in 1967 and was given a distinctive Cramps treatment with Iggy Pop's collaboration. In 2001, the Cramps reissued "Look Mom No Head!" on their own Vengeance Records label, including two bonus tracks: "Wilder Wilder Faster Faster" and "Jelly Roll Rock". The album showcases the Cramps' trademark psychobilly and punk rock sound, characterized by wild guitar riffs, energetic rhythms, and Lux Interior's distinctive vocals. It received positive reviews for its raw energy and irreverent lyrics, typical of the band's style. "Look Mom No Head!" remains a cult favorite among fans of the Cramps and continues to be celebrated for its contribution to the underground rock scene of the early 1990s.
