Barbra Streisand

"Love Is the Answer" is Barbra Streisand's thirty-second studio album, released on September 29, 2009. This collection of jazz standards was produced by the acclaimed Diana Krall alongside Tommy LiPuma, showcasing Krall's piano work and featuring orchestral arrangements by renowned composers like Johnny Mandel, Anthony Wilson, and Alan Broadbent. The album received widespread critical acclaim and marked a significant milestone for Streisand, becoming her record-breaking ninth #1 album on the Billboard 200. This achievement made her the only artist to have a number one album in the U.S. across five different decades. Additionally, Love Is the Answer was certified Gold by the RIAA shortly after its release, bringing her total to 51 Gold records in the U.S. To promote the album, Streisand performed a special one-night-only concert at the Village Vanguard on September 26, 2009, nearly fifty years after her first performance at the iconic venue. This performance was later released on DVD as One Night Only Barbra Streisand and Quartet at The Village Vanguard, achieving Platinum status in the U.S. Streisand also made appearances on a QVC special to promote the album, which included a Special Edition DVD with bonus video tracks from her extensive career, such as performances of "People" and "Silent Night." The deluxe edition of Love Is the Answer features a bonus disc with stripped-down versions of the songs, highlighting Streisand’s vocals alongside Krall's quartet, further enriching this remarkable project.
