"Beat Boy" is the third studio album by the British synth-pop band Visage, recorded at Trident Studios between 1982 and 1983 and released by Polydor Records in October 1984, following delays due to contractual issues. The album reached No. 79 on the UK album chart and was poorly received by critics, marking the band's last studio album for nearly thirty years.
Background details include lead singer Steve Strange's decision to transition Visage into a live band, which resulted in a lineup change. Drummer Rusty Egan remained, while key member Billy Currie left early in the recording process, though he co-wrote and played on the track "Only The Good Die Young." Keyboardist Dave Formula also departed during this time.
Beat Boy was released on October 26, 1984, on vinyl and cassette, with the cassette featuring remixes and a total running time of over 50 minutes, including an extra instrumental track, "Reprise." The album was first released on CD in February 2009 by Cherry Red Records, maintaining the original track list with four additional tracks. A remixed version was released on CD in 2022 by Rubellan Remasters.
