AC/DC

Blow Up Your Video is the eleventh studio album by Australian rock band AC/DC. Released on 01 February 1988, it was the band's first studio album in three years. In between, the band members had focused on their side projects and family matters. Despite the absence, the album became a big hit, peaking at No. 2 on the UK charts while also reaching the top 10 in the band's native Australia and several other countries. The album was produced by brothers Harry & George Young, older siblings of AC/DC's Angus and Malcolm Young. It recaptured the raw and gritty rock sound of their early work. It includes some memorable tracks like "Heatseeker" and "That's the Way I Wanna Rock 'n' Roll.” One key point regarding its background is that during the recording of the album, Malcolm Young faced serious alcohol-related problems and required time off. For a time, it was undecided whether he would remain with the band. In the end, however, he continued on, working his issues out privately. Despite not being one of their biggest commercial successes, Blow Up Your Video marked the end of a trying period for AC/DC and set the stage for their late-career renaissance. The album went on to go Platinum in the US, UK, France, and Switzerland, and Double Platinum in Canada, cementing its legacy in AC/DC's discography.
