Foals

"Life Is Yours" is the seventh studio album by the British rock band Foals, released on June 17, 2022, via Warner/Transgressive/ADA. This album marked a significant transition for the band, as it is their first release as a trio following the departures of keyboardist Edwin Congreave in 2021 and bassist Walter Gervers in 2018 (though Gervers later returned in 2023). The album features a diverse range of production, marking another first for Foals as they collaborated with multiple producers. Notable producers involved in "Life Is Yours" include John Hill, Dan Carey, A. K. Paul, and Miles James, each contributing to the album's eclectic sound. Prior to the album's release, Foals unveiled five singles: "Wake Me Up," "2am," "Looking High," "2001," and "Crest of the Wave," building anticipation among their fanbase. In a unique twist, Foals also released a remix of the album titled "Life Is Dub," which was produced by Dan Carey. Frontman Yannis Philippakis described the remix as a psychedelic journey, influenced by Carey's experimental approach and psychedelic experiences. "Life Is Dub" was released as a limited edition vinyl on April 22, 2023, exclusively to select record stores worldwide as part of Record Store Day 2023, offering fans a different perspective on the original album's tracks. Overall, "Life Is Yours" and its accompanying remix "Life Is Dub" showcase Foals' evolution as a band, experimenting with new sounds and production techniques while continuing to deliver their distinct brand of rock music to audiences globally.
