Morrissey

"Without Music the World Dies" is Morrissey's upcoming fourteenth solo studio album, announced on 8 December 2022. Recorded between January and February 2023 at La Fabrique Studios in St-Remy, France, the album was produced by Joe Chiccarelli, marking their fifth collaboration. The album was created outside of a record contract, following Morrissey's departure from Capitol Records. Initially planned to feature twelve songs, it was later reduced to ten tracks written by Morrissey and his band. The album was completed by 20 February 2023, and Morrissey sought distribution from record labels or private investors. However, as of December 2024, the album remains unreleased, and no updates have been provided on its distribution. In a December 2024 interview, Morrissey revealed that another album was recorded in late 2023 in France, with new tracks replacing half of the original material. Live performances of songs from the album began in March 2023, with "The Night Pop Dropped" and the title track performed in Paris. The song "Notre-Dame" was also debuted live in July 2023.
