"World Peace Is None of Your Business" is the tenth solo studio album by English singer Morrissey. It was released on 15 July 2014, by Harvest Records and recorded February through March 2014 in France. Produced by Joe Chiccarelli, a producer known for his work with artists such as The Strokes and The White Stripes. The album marks Morrissey's first original material since the 2009's "Years of Refusal."
The album observed quite a controversial release and promotional phase, as it got removed from digital retailers and streaming services just a few weeks after its release due to a disagreement between Morrissey and the Harvest Records.
The album title, according to Morrissey, asserts the understanding that each person is utterly trapped within a world of uncontrollable violence and the great question remains unanswered: to enhance the joys of the self or to trust with hope in any political institution.
Featuring 12 tracks, the album received relatively positive reviews from music critics, who typically praised its lyricism and themes but found its music inconsistent. Despite the controversies surrounding its release, the album achieved commercial success, debuting at number 2 in the UK Albums Chart and number 14 in the US Billboard 200.
Notable songs on the album include the title track, "World Peace Is None of Your Business," "Istanbul," "Earth Is the Loneliest Planet," and "Kick the Bride Down the Aisle." Musically, the album incorporates a variety of styles, including rock, pop, and flamenco, and its lyrics often address topics such as politics, love, and social issues.
