"Mirror to the Sky" is the twenty-third studio album by the legendary English progressive rock band Yes, released on May 19, 2023, by InsideOut Music and Sony Music. The album holds significance as it marks the band's first studio release following the passing of longtime drummer Alan White in 2022. Dedicated to White's memory, the album introduces American drummer Jay Schellen as a full-time member, who had previously filled in for White on numerous occasions and contributed percussion as a guest on the band's prior album, "The Quest" (2021). This departure from White's longstanding tenure with the band marks the first time Yes has released an album without him since "Close to the Edge" in 1972.
Work on "Mirror to the Sky" began shortly before the release of "The Quest" in October 2021, with guitarist Steve Howe reprising his role as producer. The album features orchestral arrangements by Paul K. Joyce, performed by the FAMES Orchestra in North Macedonia, adding depth and richness to select tracks. Upon its release, the album received positive reviews across various formats including CD, LP, Blu-ray, and digital platforms. Some editions of the album also feature additional artwork by renowned Yes cover artist Roger Dean, further enhancing the visual and aesthetic experience for fans of the band.
