The Yardbirds

"For Your Love" marks the debut American album by the English rock band the Yardbirds, released in June 1965. A combination of new studio recordings and previously released singles, the album offers a glimpse into the early days of guitar legends Eric Clapton and his eventual replacement, Jeff Beck. Selected by the Yardbirds' manager, Giorgio Gomelsky, the album was strategically curated to capitalize on the success of the hit single "For Your Love." Released as the band geared up for their inaugural American tour, the album managed to secure a spot at number 96 on Billboard's Top LPs chart, further solidifying the Yardbirds' presence in the US music scene. Notably, "For Your Love" was never issued in the UK. However, the songs featuring Jeff Beck were later released in August 1965 on the Five Yardbirds EP, ensuring that British fans also had access to the band's evolving sound. With its combination of fresh studio recordings and previously successful singles, "For Your Love" serves as a milestone in the Yardbirds' discography. It captures the early talents of Clapton and Beck, while also showcasing the band's burgeoning popularity on both sides of the Atlantic.
