Supertramp

"...Famous Last Words..." is the seventh studio album by English rock band Supertramp, released in October 1982. This album marked a significant moment as it was the last collaboration featuring vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist Roger Hodgson before he departed for a solo career, concluding the classic lineup of the band. The album reached number 5 on the Billboard Pop Albums Chart and was certified Gold in the US and UK, reflecting its commercial success. Notable tracks include "It's Raining Again" and "Crazy," showcasing a mix of Hodgson's pop sensibilities and Rick Davies' progressive rock influences. However, the album is characterized by a conflict in vision between the two songwriters, leading to a blend of styles that some critics described as a diluted compromise. Recorded mainly at Hodgson's home studio, the album's title and cover art were interpreted as hints of impending separation within the band, a sentiment later confirmed by Hodgson. Despite mixed reviews upon release—some critics labeling it bland—*...Famous Last Words...* has since been re-evaluated, with a remastered CD released in 2002, preserving its original artwork.
