"Sons and Fascination/Sister Feelings Call" is the fourth album by Scottish post-punk band Simple Minds, released as a double LP in September 1981. This album marked the band's first significant breakthrough into the international music scene. It features notable singles such as "The American," "Love Song," and "Sweat in Bullet," which contributed to its widespread recognition and success.
Sons and Fascination and Sister Feelings Call were originally released as two separate albums in September 1981, but they were assembled from the same recording sessions and released simultaneously. They were sometimes sold together as a double-LP set, leading to their classification as either a double album, two single albums, or a single album and an extended play.
The current CD remaster combines all the tracks from both albums into a single set, preserving their original track running orders. However, the 1985 CD reissue faced limitations due to the maximum running time constraints of Red Book CDs at the time. As a result, Virgin Records chose to delete two tracks from Sister Feelings Call, "League of Nations" and "Sound in 70 Cities," rather than issuing the material as a two-CD set.
