"Relentless" is the twelfth studio album by the English-American rock band the Pretenders, released on September 15, 2023, through Parlophone. This marks the band's first release under the Parlophone label. The album's lead single, "Let the Sun Come In," was released prior to the album. To support the album, the Pretenders embarked on the Relentless Tour, which began on May 12 and includes dates across the UK, Ireland, Europe, the US, and Canada, continuing through October 2023.
Three tracks were released before the album's official drop: "Let the Sun Come In," "I Think About You Daily," and "A Love." The release of Relentless was initially scheduled for September 1 but was postponed to September 15 due to production delays.
Chrissie Hynde and guitarist James Walbourne wrote the songs for Relentless together remotely. Hynde mentioned that they had developed a method of working remotely that they continued to use for this album, saying, "This is something that we've honed down to an art in the last few years. He always comes up with something I wouldn't have thought of myself." This collaboration marks their second album written together, following their work on 2020's Hate for Sale.
