"Chaosmosis" is the eleventh studio album by Scottish rock band Primal Scream. It was released on March 18, 2016, the record marked five years since the band's last album release. The album contains ten tracks and was put out by the band's own independent label, First International.
The recording process for "Chaosmosis" was reported to be a departure from Primal Scream's previous methods. Instead of the full band recording together in a studio, frontman Bobby Gillespie and guitarist Andrew Innes initially crafted the music using just their laptops. Known for combining different genres, Primal Scream implemented a blend of electro pop, dance music and psychedelic pop on this album.
"Chaosmosis" includes appearances from several guest musicians, including Haim on the opening track, 'Trippin' On Your Love,' and Rachel Zeffira and Sky Ferreira on 'Where The Light Gets In,' which was released ahead as a single.
As per the critics, the album has a brighter, more accessible sound compared to some of their earlier work. It reached number 13 on the UK albums chart, making it a chart success for the band.
