Primal Scream

Beautiful Future is the ninth studio album by Scottish rock band Primal Scream, released on July 21, 2008, through B-Unique Records. The album achieved a peak position of number 9 on the UK Albums Chart. It was promoted by the single Can't Go Back and was produced by Björn Yttling and Paul Epworth. The album is noted for its eclectic mix of genres, incorporating elements of Philly soul, dark electro, accelerated rock'n'roll riffs, and British pop, all infused with the band's distinctive style. Special guest appearances on the album include Lovefoxxx from Cansei de Ser Sexy, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, and folk legend Linda Thompson. The extended edition of Beautiful Future features two additional tracks, Urban Guerrilla and "Time of Assassins, as well as the video for Can't Go Back. This album is significant as it is the first to be released without guitarist Robert "Throb" Young, who retired following the release of their previous album Riot City Blues in 2006. It is also the last studio album to feature bassist Mani before his departure to rejoin The Stone Roses in 2011.
