Alice Cooper

"Alice Cooper's Greatest Hits" stands as the sole greatest hits compilation by the American rock band Alice Cooper, released in 1974. It served as their final release as a band at that time. The album comprises hit tracks from five of their seven studio albums, excluding material from their first two albums, "Pretties for You" and "Easy Action." One of the notable aspects of this compilation is that the songs were remixed by Jack Richardson for the release, with the remix of "I'm Eighteen" even issued as a single in the US. This remixing strategy aimed to present the songs in a refreshed light since no new material was available, as the band was on hiatus during this period. In 2001, Rhino Records expanded upon this compilation with "Mascara & Monsters: The Best of Alice Cooper," which not only included the original single versions of the songs from "Greatest Hits" but also featured additional hits from Alice Cooper's solo career post-1974. This expanded edition effectively filled an entire CD, offering fans a more comprehensive retrospective of Alice Cooper's musical journey beyond their initial band years.
